From the series Church of Broken Pieces

Inspired by "When the Saints Go Marching In", often referred to as "The Saints", is an American gospel hymn. Though it originated as a Christian hymn, it is often played by jazz bands. This song was famously recorded on May 13, 1938 by Louis Armstrong and his Orchestra. The emergence of drumline organizations in Black neighborhoods throughout America served as an influence, to which I wanted to link back, or pay homage to Dixieland, sometimes referred to as hot jazz or traditional jazz, a style of jazz based on the music that developed in New Orleans at the start of the 20th century.
