FROM THE SERIES "THE NEW NORMAL"

The New Normal (which isn't so new) is an attempt to connect iconography through Americana and its great void right into the now: putting the banal and the profound of  our everyday  American lives into an iconic context: we are all a Madonna of some kind, children of a Madonna and either seeking or in some kind of Adam and Eve constellation.

In the past Iconography was a device to create a standard for human conditioning, to tame the beast. As our lives over time got longer, more complex and multifaceted it has become painfully obvious old  medieval norms do not realistically apply and adhering to them mindlessly won't make us happy: we shouldn't change, the norms need to.
"The New Normal" is about just that: connecting the manicured presentation of the past (iconography) to casual every day moments through a less predictable, more fun and expanded iconographic language.
